Internship in Seed Physiology

**Context**
Sakata Vegetables Europe is a subsidiary of Sakata Seed Corporation (Japan) and is responsible for the development and expansion of the activities across the EMEA area. With our wide array of vegetable seeds, we want to create a confidence-based relationship with our customers, working to our age old motto of Quality, Reliability and Service.

Among the Supply Chain department, you will be under the responsibility of the director. The activities of this department, from production till delivery to our clients are essential in order to answer our clients’ needs, in quality as well as in quantity.

**Missions**
We are looking for a motivated student who want to participate in the development of an innovative project, addressing the big challenges of today. Work is performed in the greenhouse, lab, and office.

Your main missions will include:

- Develop and execute seed disinfection treatment by using biological control products and study the effects
- Carry out the execution of seed health testing of physical methods (HWT, etc.)
- Realize germination tests after executing of the treatments
- Write a report on the results of the study

**Profile**
We are looking for students in Master studies focus in Plant Physiology or Plant Pathology or a related field. A good knowledge about seed physiology and laboratory techniques are necessary.

The position requires an important autonomy level and organizational skills with methodical approach. You are a team player and you are possessing a willingness to constantly learn new things.

Furthermore, good English skills (written, listening and speaking) are necessary due to our activities across the EMEA area, our Japanese origin and your future direct management line. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (like Excel, Word and Outlook) is also requested for this internship.

**Gratification**

650€ Gross Salary + 250€ financial support + Tickets restaurants

**Application**

This position is available for 6 months, starting from March 2023, and you will be based in South of France (in Uchaud, between Nimes and Montpellier).
