You will join the department Installation Mechanical Equipment and Fuel System, which is part of the Design and Integration organization within the Airbus Helicopters design office. The team is responsible for the development of parts and assemblies for the installation of external Outboard Equipment and the Fuel System. It supports the complete Airbus Helicopters product range, including commercial and governmental helicopters, as well as research demonstrators, throughout the complete helicopter life cycle (design, prototype and serial production, in-service support). The outboard equipment installation is done for the full scope of helicopter missions, incl. public transport, public services, emergency medical services, police and parapublic missions, Search and Rescue, military, and VIP transport.
The department is transnationally organized, with team members in Marignane and in Donauwörth. Team members work in modern agile project teams together with members of Airframe Design, Vehicle Systems, Electrical System, and Stress departments, among others. The team also works with multiple subcontractors and international Airbus subsidiaries.
Your mission will consist of the development of Outboard Equipment installations. This position offers development opportunities within the team both in technical direction (e.g. as Technical Verification Engineer (TVE), Design Engineer), as well as in leadership and project management (e.g. towards Squad Leader for a multidisciplinary engineering team within an Agile framework).
This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
**Tasks & accountabilities**
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Design of Mechanical System Installations:
- Concept studies
- 3D parts design in CATIA v5
- 2D drawings creation and modification
- Design data management in tools such as ENOVIA VPM and Airbus PDM tools
- Contribution to documents for certification and qualification
- Contribution to definition of subcontracting work packages and follow-up of subcontractor activities
**Required skills**:
- Educated to BAC +3 years degree level (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline, or relevant professional experience.
- Experience with mechanical part design, preferably using CATIA v5.
- At least 3 years of global experience
- Experience with fuel system design is a plus.
- Experience with technical Change Management processes, and product data management with software tools such as ENOVIA VPM, SAP, Windchill, or similar. Experience with BNAe standards is a plus.
- Preferably experience with airworthiness certification.
- Behavioral: working in an agile team, welcoming challenges, eager to take on responsibility, contribute to continuous improvement
- Language Skills: advanced level of French and English
