Asklepios BioPharmaceutical, Inc. (AskBio) is a leading, clinical-stage gene therapy company founded in 2001 based on the work of adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene therapy visionary and pioneer, Jude Samulski, PhD. Since that time, our commitment to developing life-saving medicines that can potentially cure genetic diseases has never wavered.
At AskBio, we’ve built a foundation of therapeutic programs, AAV manufacturing and a rich portfolio of patented technology. Our therapeutic focus includes neuromuscular, central nervous system, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases with clinical trials underway for Pompe disease, Parkinson’s disease, and congestive heart failure. Our gene therapy platform includes Pro10, an industry-leading proprietary cell line manufacturing process, and an extensive AAV capsid and promoter library.
We became a wholly-owned, independently operated, subsidiary of Bayer AG in late 2020 as a cornerstone of its newly formed Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT) platform. Our global headquarters is in Research Triangle Park, NC. Additionally, we have significant operations in Philadelphia, PA, Columbus, OH, Scotland, France, and Spain.

About the role:
This position is based in Paris (Paris Brain institute) France.
The area of interest will be the central nervous system (CNS), with local gene transfer into the CNS and/or systemic gene delivery. Therapeutic strategy is gene transfer approaches using viral vectors (AAV), in various models of neurodegenerative diseases.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- In vivo experimentation in mouse models
- Perform mouse necropsies, tissue dissection and blood collection/preservation/processing
- Design, perform, develop biological sampling by various ex vivo techniques and fine analysis of the samples using a panel of arrays (Western Blot, qPCR, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, microscopy analysis, etc)
- Maintain comprehensive understanding of the current project, timelines, and reporting to the direct manager
- Author development reports, lab protocols, SOPs, study plan
- Hight autonomy and flexibility to collaborate with other projects and internal tasks/missions in the team (cross-disciplinary)
- Interaction with CROs, external platforms and AskBio internal teams to ensure progress of the project(s) in hands
Required Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in biology or equivalent.
- Experience with animal experimentation (Animal experimentation certificate)
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Self-motivated, organized, capable of working independently as well as in a collaborative/team environment.
- Ability to generate high quality data for presentations and publications.
- Good judgment and innovation to achieve a solution within standard practices and procedures.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task among multiple projects and work independently in a fast-paced, highly interactive environment.
