The Nestlé R&D Center located in the Loire Valley in Tours (France), is part of the Nestlé Institute of Agricultural Sciences within the Nestlé Research Organization whose main center is located in Lausanne, Switzerland. Nestlé Research combines fundamental science at the highest level, high-end analytical platforms leveraged by all research teams, and strong capabilities to accelerate the translation of science into innovation. The Plant Science team builds knowledge on strategic crops with the aim of developing new plant materials in order to deliver quality products through better and sustainable farming.

As a plant science researcher, you are responsible for the development and implementation of tools associated with plant development research and plant physiology in the plant breeding team of Plant Sciences at Nestle.

You will play a key role in the different research programs by adapting and implementing horticultural methods and techniques for the innovation in coffee and cocoa breeding programs. You will also contribute to operational activities to support ongoing breeding projects. You are able to analyze complex data sets to support the varietal programs of the department and to act as team player in coordination with project managers and the different stakeholders.
At the same time, you keep up to date with new developments in the field and you would be able to interact with professionals in molecular biology, cell biology, plant physiology and plant breeding with special emphasis on coffee and cocoa.

**Your missions**
- Design, conduct, evaluate and analyze scientific experiments in coordination with other scientists
- Develop transferable protocols to main stakeholders
- Produce and deliver plant material according to expectations keeping time and cost efficiency in mind
- Report scientific findings in a clear written and oral manner
- Handle multiple projects and recognize opportunities as an associative thinker
- Reports directly to the group leader but also reach and interpret results to the different stakeholders, build and interact with Plant biotechnology network

**What will make you successful**

PhD degree (for example in Plant Science, Physiology or Horticultural Research) or 3 year-experience in the field of plant production under controlled conditions, crop management.
You are passionate about plant development and plant production in greenhouse, and growth rooms
You aim for collaborative working that builds internal and external relationships, you contribute to innovation
You are comfortable working in project management research organization
You integrate and comply with corporate ways of working
You are able to share and transfer (complex) technologies into user friendly manners and processes
You have developed proven skills in data management and analysis (statistical analysis such as hypothesis test, ANOVA, non-parametric tests, multivariate analysis)
You have excellent reporting and communication skills in english, french and spanish is a plus.
You have a good knowledge in genetics/plant breeding as well as horticulture.
