Principal Risk & PSM Advisor

Position Overview

The Principal Risk & Process Safety Management (PSM) Advisor is a permanent position, reporting directly to the Global Director Safety and Risk overseeing the European and South African regions.

This senior technical role provides direct support and service to the relevant regional management teams, helping to develop and implement initiatives across 8 operating sites driving continuous improvement of SHE performance. The position will contribute to the growth in the capacity of our people, processes and plant so that risk is sustainably reduced, stakeholder expectations are exceeded and so that more things go well for our teams in the workplace.

The position can be based at any of our European Sites in Botlek (Netherlands) Thann (France or Stallingborough (UK). There is expectation of travel to all European facilities, as well as semi-regular travel to Tronox's operations in both West and East regions of South Africa. As part of a global team, connection and collaboration is required, which necessitates calls outside of typical working hours and occasional international travel providing support in areas of core expertise.

Primary Responsibilities

**This role is accountable for**:

- Support Sites in the development of PSM programs and provide technical input, promoting standardization of approach to specific hazards. Promote the alignment of site-based programs with global strategy
- Provide coaching and skills development to individual team members at regional locations building capacity in Occupational safety, Loss Control and Process Safety Management.
- Coordinate regional safety and risk governance and assurance processes so that SHE legal, regulatory compliance and stakeholder expectations are exceeded
- Work with sites to implement global strategy for management of contractor workforce and reduction of contractor incidents
- Conduct targeted risk-based audits of sites to assist in development of site-based improvement programmes
- Oversee the effective Site management of internal material environmental risks
- Oversee the improvement of programs to manage risks associated with waste storage and handling
- Develop site capacity in incident investigation (occupational safety, environment, PSM & insurance)
- Pursue improvements in quality of risk data to enable robust analysis and decision-making
- Identify requirements for Site insurance and provide Insurance claims support
- Interpret the impacts of changes in relevant regional regulations and international standards and advise on alignment of these to business practices
- Deliver specialized global training
- Leading change, ensuring organizational learning and delivery of sustainable improvement actions

Qualifications & Experience
- A Bachelor Degree in either Process Safety Management, Safety or related Engineering field.
- Possess a minimum of 10 years' demonstrated experience in either PSM or Safety
- You have substantial experience and record of achievements researching, developing and writing operational safety and environmental risk documentation within a large complex organization
