Massy, France Exotrail Temps plein

**Duration of the internship/availability**:4 or 6 months (ideally 6 from April 2024)
**Location**:Massy (91), France.

**Internship Mechanical & Thermal Test Engineer: characterisation of materials at high temperatures**

**J**ob Description ‍**
***:
**Context**:
In electrical propellers for satellite, small and precise parts are submitted to high temperatures gradients due to the magnetic field creation and space. These gradients can create mechanical constraints and can be an issue for the structural integrity of the devices.
Often, at high temperatures, the thermo-mechanical properties of materials can change, and it is difficult to conduct precise analysis with the uncertainty of these data.

**Missions**:
Your job as a mechanical and thermal test engineer will be to conduct a campaign of thermal/mechanical characterisation on the usual materials we use at Exotrail.

After a few weeks of bibliography, you will start to determine the test procedure to measure the thermal conductivity, the specific heat, the dilatation coefficient, the emissivity, and the absorptivity.

You will create the necessary parts to your test and draw the plans, order the parts to our suppliers and build the test bench.

You will conduct the whole test campaign and post-process the results obtained

**Preferred Experience ‍️**
- You are currently doing a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- You have a mechanical and thermal engineering background. Knowing a CAD software is a plus (Catia, Solidworks).
- You are passionate about space.
- You are curious, autonomous, and not afraid of challenges.
- You speak English. French is definitely a plus.

A friendly attitude and team spirit are more than appreciated

**About our recruitment process**

We are committed to recruiting the right people for the right job regardless of your private background.

We meet at least twice in order to give you a better idea of what it's like to work at Exotrail:

- Technical interview with your future manager: you will learn more about the position and the required qualifications.
- Management interview with a Technical Leader: you will learn more about Exotrail’s values and vision.
