Research Engineer in Electrochemisty for Carbon

You will join a team of specialists in electrochemistry and chemical engineering applied to the decarbonization processes of the steel industry. You will work closely with all ArcelorMittal R&D labs and for all ArcelorMittal plants.
**Your role**
We are a team of engineers who are passionate about environment and CO2 issues in our Group. We are looking for a future colleague with the same passions and talents.
Our job is to find and implement short, medium and long term solutions to reduce ArcelorMittal's CO2 footprint.
You will:
- Develop or improve methods and technologies to succeed the production of carbon neutral steel. The full steel production route is concerned by the mission, so a global view and a polyvalent approach is needed to act on the process.
- Have the key skills required for the position to:
- Develop chemical and electrochemical solutions for the treatment of steelmaking raw materials
- Develop physico-chemical models for chemical and electrochemical processes
- Perform systemic mass, energy and economic balance for prospective CO2 studies, and suggest the best economic scenarios,
- Interact with ArcelorMittal's top decision makers and propose effective business plans to assist in decision making,
- Introduce the necessary paradigm shift in the way internal and external resources are used in the steel industry (circular economy, industrial symbiosis).
You will enter our international network consisting of many researchers and engineers in industrial plants, but also with other industries and academia.
We are committed to helping you quickly acquire the knowledge and tools necessary for the job through permanent coaching from the entire R&D Process Engineering team.
Career development is possible either in R&D or in industrial plants, depending on the opportunities and your wishes.
**Your profile**
- You hold a Masters' degree or a PhD in Chemical Engineering.
- You have an experience in ferrous raw materials.
- You have knowledge and experience in Process Integration as well as in sustainable development and circular economy.
- You have advanced levels in French and English.
- You have excellent communication skills.
- You have adaptability and cross-cultural competence.
- You know how to work with a team.
