**Job description**:
We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Optical Engineer to join our Expert team to support the launch of our first gigafactory. You will play a critical role in supporting and optimizing the optical components and systems used in our manufacturing equipment. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of the optical systems, enhancing product quality, reliability, and efficiency.

**Your Main Missions will be**:
Optical System Optimization and Calibration:

- Support operations in usage and calibration of optical systems in manufacturing equipment to ensure consistent performance and accuracy.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose any issues related to optical components, such as lenses, lasers, sensors, and detectors, and promptly address them to minimize downtime.

Design and process improvement:

- Collaborate with the product and process engineering department to review, analyze, and improve optical system designs for new and existing manufacturing equipment.
- Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains within optical systems already deployed.
- Conduct simulations, modeling, and testing to optimize optical systems, aiming for enhanced performance, precision, and cost-effectiveness overall

Quality Assurance and Testing:

- Develop and implement testing protocols to validate the performance and functionality of optical systems within manufacturing equipment.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality guidelines, with a focus on achieving exceptional product quality.

Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain comprehensive documentation of optical system specifications, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
- Provide regular reports on equipment performance, issues, and improvements to management and relevant stakeholders.

Training and Support:

- Train manufacturing personnel in the proper use, maintenance, and handling of optical systems in the manufacturing equipment.
- Offer technical support and guidance to operators and technicians during troubleshooting and maintenance activities.

Research and Development:

- Stay abreast of advancements in optical engineering, manufacturing processes, and emerging technologies.
- Recommend and implement innovative solutions and technologies to enhance the efficiency and capabilities of optical systems.

**Profile**:
**Know How**
- Proficiency in optical modeling and simulation software (e.g., Zemax, Code V) and familiarity with other optical design tools.
- Strong understanding of optical components, including lenses, lasers, fiber optics, detectors, and sensors.
- Knowledge of quality assurance and testing methodologies specific to optical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a systematic approach to root cause analysis.

**Qualification**

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related field

**Experience**
- Proven experience in optical system design, testing, and troubleshooting, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
