What the job is about
As a sales engineer at Sofico, you will act as a technical sales professional who combines technical knowledge with sales skills to promote and sell complex products or services. Your primary role is to bridge the gap between the technical aspects of our product or service and the customer's needs. You will be able to work in a high-paced, but rewarding environment. Travel will be part of the job every once in a while and you will get to see our other offices worldwide. You will build your network through many connections and help shape the future of a growing, passionate team and organization. What we expect from you:
**Product Knowledge**: While you don't need to know every fine grain detail of our products, you need to understand or quickly grasp the technical specifications, capabilities, and limitations of our offerings.
**Customer Interaction**: You will engage with customers to understand their requirements, challenges, and objectives. You will often participate in meetings, presentations, and discussions with clients to assess their needs and propose appropriate solutions.
**Technical Demonstrations and presentations**: Based on your understanding of a (potential) customer's situation, you build and conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase how our solutions address their needs. These demonstrations and presentations often involve explaining complex technical concepts.
**Proposal Development**: In collaboration with the sales team, (Key) Account Managers, (Lead) Business Consultants you will help create proposals, presentations, and sometimes Proof of Concept systems tailored to each customer's requirements.
**Support Sales Process**: Sales engineers support the sales process from initial contact through to deal closure. You may assist in negotiations, address technical concerns or objections raised by customers, and provide technical expertise to help close deals.
**Post-Sales Support**: After a sale is made, you continue to support the customer by helping the project team get the implementation going - you have acquired information that is vital for a successful project.
**Strategy & Feedback Loop**: Sales engineers act as a conduit between customers and internal teams, providing feedback on customer requirements, market trends, and competitor activities.
Overall, a sales engineer plays a crucial role in driving revenue by effectively communicating the technical value of products or services to customers and helping them solve their business challenges. They must possess a unique blend of technical expertise, communication skills, and sales acumen to excel in this role.
Your interests and skills
Sofico delivers with ‘Miles’, an ERP software for automotive finance, leasing, fleet, and mobility management. It’s an end-to-end solution encompassing front-, mid-and back-office functions, that can be customized to the customers’ needs.
You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary project team. Every team in Sofico works in an agile way, including scrum and daily stand-ups.
You are a born organizer using the tools at your disposal (Excel, Jira, MS Projects, etc.) and can keep track of a lot of different topics at the same time.
You have strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on relationship management and influencing skills, managing difficult situations is not a problem for you.
Because of your excellent communication skills, you can effectively and concisely communicate both internally and externally with both operational colleagues and project stakeholders.
**What else is expected**:
Experience in software support
You’re interested in building long-term relationships with your customers
Experience as a Scrum Master is an extra asset
Being fluent in English
French/German is a nice-to-have
Prepared to travel
