The Thermal department at IDIADA offers cutting edge engineering services to its customers including design, testing and calibration activities for powertrain, batteries, and cabin thermal systems. Our future **climatic wind tunnel located in the northwest of Paris** is one of our key assets in that respect. This Climatic Wind Tunnel facility will focus on the development and validation of Thermal systems, including vehicle cabin, powertrain area and HV batteries at different driving and weather conditions. Test typologies will be covering maximum performance evaluation, system calibrations definition and also energy management optimization.
Working onsite, you will act as the wind tunnel operator and testing technician. You will report to the wind tunnel manager.
You will have the following responsibilities:
- Operate the control systems of the wind tunnel in order to implement the set-up required by the client (roller bench control, air speed, room temperature and humidity set points, etc.)
- Assist the client in setting up all his/her testing equipment (vehicle charging and soaking, loggers, instrumentation, collecting testing data,)
- Start up and shut down the wind tunnel at the beginning and end of every shift.
- Participate pro-actively in all the wind tunnel monitoring, maintenance, and repair activities. This will include assisting all the technical suppliers that might intervene onsite.
- Carry out specific instrumentation of the client’s testing vehicles (installation of thermocouples, pressure sensors, etc.). And perform all sensor calibration and maintenance activities.
- When required, you might also operate/drive the vehicle inside the wind tunnel during the testing program.
**Qualifications**

- Hand’s on, pro-active, and helpful attitude.
- Problem solving and customer centric mindset.
- At least 3 years’ proven experience acting as a testing technician in the automotive industry. Ideally within a wind tunnel or a similar type of testing facility (emission roller bench for example).
- Mechanical repair skills and high voltage electrical vehicle handling certificates are a plus.
- Basic understanding and conversational skills either in English or Spanish.
**Additional Information**
Main working conditions
- The position is based in Ile de France region (Saint Ouen l’Aumone).
- “ETAM” type contract
- Working hours: you will alternate between morning shifts (5.30am to 12.50pm) and afternoon shifts (12.40 to 8pm) every week.
