Desktop Support Engineer

**Duties**
- Provide first-line support for Windows and Mac OS environments, addressing user inquiries and technical issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems, including computer hardware malfunctions.
- Assist users with VPN connectivity issues and ensure secure access to company resources.
- Manage firewall configurations and maintain network security protocols.
- Conduct regular maintenance on computer systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Document all support interactions in the remedy system for tracking purposes.
- Collaborate with other IT staff to escalate complex issues as necessary.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies relevant to desktop support.
**Experience**
- Proven experience in a help desk or technical support role, with a strong focus on customer service.
- Proficiency in Windows operating systems and familiarity with Mac OS and Linux environments.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking principles and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and general network security practices is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with users at all levels.
