The ROV Technical Superintendent will report to the Operations Manager
The role is mobile with regular visits to systems and on-site locations
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
**Fleet Operations Management**:
- Ensure the operational safety, reliability, and efficiency of the ROV fleet.
- Act as the technical point of contact for the ROV fleet, addressing maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
- Liaise closely with offshore crews to support maintenance and repair tasks.
- **Legislation and Compliance**:
- Maintain awareness of and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, flag state, classification society, IMO, and company standards.
- Ensure technical documentation and certifications are updated and comply with required regulations.
- **Project Support**:
- Actively participate in project planning to align ROV asset schedules with operational needs.
- Support the preparation of ROV tenders and propose innovative technical solutions that add value to customers.
- **Budgeting and Reporting**:
- Prepare and control repair, maintenance, and investment budgets.
- Track and report fleet performance metrics on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
- Use tools like NAVTRAX for equipment tracking and data analysis.
- **Maintenance and Upgrades**:
- Oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of ROV assets, ensuring adherence to maintenance schedules.
- Identify, plan, and execute system upgrades and modifications to enhance fleet capability.
- **Team Collaboration**:
- Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, HSEQ, crewing, and commercial.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and vendors.
KEY MEASURABLES
- Ensure the ROV fleet operates safely, reliably, and efficiently at all times.
- Maintain a high standard of operational readiness across all ROV systems.
- Ensure all technical operations align with industry regulations, flag state requirements, and company standards.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate technical documentation and certifications for the fleet.
- Oversee the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance plans.
- Identify and implement technical upgrades to enhance fleet capability and extend operational lifespan.
- Build strong relationships with offshore crews, clients, and vendors.
- Monitor and report fleet performance metrics.
- Utilize tools like NetSuite and Shepard to track equipment usage, identify trends, and inform decision-making.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS SPECIFIC TO THE ROLE
**Essential Qualifications**:
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Marine Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in ROV operations and maintenance within the Oil & Gas or subsea industry.
- Proficiency in French and English (mandatory for effective communication with multinational teams and clients).
- Strong understanding of Kystdesign ROV operation, tooling, and subsea technologies.
**Desirable Qualifications or Equivalent Experience**:
- Certification or training in work-class ROV systems or advanced subsea technologies.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP or equivalent) to support planning and execution of ROV-related projects.
- Experience with NAVTRAX or similar fleet management tools for performance tracking and maintenance scheduling.
- Familiarity with offshore industry regulations and standards, including flag state, IMO, and classification societies.
- Advanced knowledge of HSEQ principles (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) specific to subsea operations.
