We are now recruiting a Business Technology Solutions Lead reporting to the BTS Director of our European HQ team.

**Who are you?**

You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree or have equivalent work experience.

You also have 10+ years’ experience in either business areas or within Business Technology Solutions (BTS) and three-five years of leadership responsibility. Preferably, this experience is within related, industry-leading, large, cross-functional teams or enterprise-wide programs, influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.

Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrated experience in strategy and strategic planning, organization design and development.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate vision that inspires and motivates staff and lead the strategy execution
- Strong business acumen, including industry, domain-specific knowledge of an enterprise and its business units
- Good understanding of current and emerging technologies and how they may be applied to the commercial affiliate to drive digital business
- Expertise in budget planning and financial management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business partners

- Identify and leverage resources internally and externally for the Affiliate to enhance capabilities that drive digital business
- Partner with geographically diverse teams and overcome the culture clashes that may arise
- Develop and execute a strategic people plan that ensures that the right people are in the right roles at the right time and that employees are highly engaged and satisfied
- Effective influencing and negotiation skills in a complex multinational environment where resources may not be in direct control of this role.

**What can we accomplish together?**

By integrating AbbVie as a BTS Lead you will be the strategic technology partner to your Regional VP and their affiliate GM’s. You will be directing the BTS investment strategy to ensure it is aligned with the European business priorities and embedded across your affiliates and region.

You will lead, influence, and evolve the European regional BTS operating model to maximize business outcomes and identify opportunities for delivering innovative technical and digital capabilities.

Within this context, your principal responsibilities will be to
- In support of the enterprise mission, determine the BTS operating model to foster business-oriented and digital-ready culture, mindsets, and practices
- Lead the Regional digital business ambition and ensure stable and optimized technology environment to achieve business outcomes.
- Actively contribute to BTS European and regional strategy and business capability strategic planning. Lead the development of the regional BTS strategic plan and roadmap. Ensure integration with the enterprise’s strategic planning process, and the resulting business strategy and plans.
- Ensure BTS capabilities are delivered reliably, sustainably, cost effectively and securely.
- Direct the design and implementation of the regional BTS operating model, organizational structure, and governance process. Use influencing and negotiation skills to create synergies across the enterprise to enable cost-effective and innovative shared solutions in achievement of business goals.
- Stay current with new external technologies and platforms and the enterprise technology portfolio to provide direction on what emerging technologies should be assimilated, integrated, and introduced that enable the retirement of legacy systems
- Develop and control the regional above market BTS budget ensuring the technology investment is consistent with the regional affiliates overall strategic objectives and is within plan.
- Participate and partner with the regional business leadership team to drive culture change in support of digital business transformation.
- Enhance BTS’s capabilities by leveraging resources, both internally and externally. Direct the development of the BTS sourcing strategy and provides executive oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management for regional level engaged vendors.
- Manage talent across the BTS team with a continuous learning mindset, ensuring capacity aligned to demand and workload and encourages growth and development.
