**About the Team (EIL department in France)**
The team is currently composed of 1 senior EIL underwriter.
In addition, are currently present in Paris:
- Continental Europe EIL Manager which is involved on the French market,
- a work-trainee which operates as an assistant EIL underwriter.
**Purpose of the Role**
LSM is currently looking for a Senior EIL Underwriter to join our rapidly-growing Paris office on a permanent basis and 100% dedicated to EIL. The primary responsibility of this role will be to underwrite business (both New business and existing portfolio) in accordance with the business plan and with UW guidelines and its delegated underwriting authority.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Contribute to the development and the profitability of the portfolio by making appropriate decisions,
- Contribute to the benchmarking and brainstorming in order to find new ideas and concepts to support the development and delivery of the business plan,
- Be involved in the design of presentations and marketing tools as well as contributions for articles in journals,
- Establish, strengthen and develop relationships with external stakeholders (customers, brokers, business partners, reinsurers and peers within official trade organizations, ) and internal stakeholders (distribution, UW of other lines of business, claims, finance, operation,..) to maximize influence and achieve business objectives,
- Help in the monitoring, the review and analysis of the portfolio, to identify progress towards business objectives,
- Actively participating in European meetings, whilst seeking cooperation with other departments within the company,
- Participate to the improvement of the tools used by the department,
- Ensure that the tracking tools handled by the department are updated property and in due time,
- Ensure the EIL line of business is administered within set compliance and underwriting procedures,
- Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LSM's commitment to our Liberty Values, placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity. These requirements include the Senior Managers and Certification Regime Conduct Rules, Solvency II, fair treatment of customers, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistleblowing.
**Skills and Experience**
- Extensive experience, preferably in EIL underwriting (insurance or brokerage) or in related assignments (environmental consultant, environmental loss adjustor, EHS at corporate level, ),
- Capacity to analyze, understand, write and summarize complex topics related to environmental risks,
- Thorough understanding of EIL exposure and related insurance, reinsurance, regulatory and legal frameworks,
- A scientific background is preferred,
- Proven ability to work in a small team,
- Fluent in English,
- Rigorous and methodical mind allowing to handle and prioritize a large volume of files and tasks,
- Good interpersonal and commercial skills,
