We are proud product owners for components, systems as well as complete powertrains. We are accountable for the lifecycle management of our products, from advanced engineering, through product development into the maintenance phase. Advanced conventional combustion Engines still represent a majority of our Products base, however the share of e-mobility solutions is steadily increasing, and we are proactive in moving forward into this transformation, relying on a strong set of relevant competences for this.
Powertrain Engineering aims at closing the gaps in well-known technologies as well as mastering new technologies. Enabling Simplicity and Growing Empowerment are the identified leadership keys to meet the performance expectations.
In this position, you will be leader of an organization dedicated to technology, people and performance. Customer satisfaction is our ultimate performance measurement.
**Responsibilities / Main tasks**
The PE France organization has the full worldwide Product platform responsibility for Medium Duty Engines and Axles. It is as well responsible for the installation of Medium duty powertrains in European Volvo products.
PE France is a large organization consisting of roughly 320 passionate employees in Lyon.
Combustion and Emissions Control organization is a department holding the responsibilities of driving Engine performances systems (fuel injection systems, air loop systems, internal combustion control) and Exhaust after Treatment systems development in a quality assured way, and delivering the expected Product performance.
Your responsibility as a leader will be to drive your team in reaching the expected Product Performance. You will lead and develop people and competences and exercise relentless improvements.
As Group Manager for Combustion Calibration, you will have the responsibility for:
- Reaching the products and projects targets of Internal combustion Engine systems and functions (in cylinder combustion, fuel injection control, air loop control, engine out emissions control, response time, exhaust heat control, on board diagnostics and monitors, extreme conditions) through calibration of inhouse Software.
- Verifying functionalities through simulation and real physical tests
- Developing and maintaining the required stakeholder’s interfaces
- Developing methods and tools to secure quality assured development
- Developing your team towards new developments and new technologies
You will lead a team consisting of roughly 10 employees.

- You are holding a Master degree in engineering
- You have a proven experience from leading a team
- You have excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- You are well experienced in the automotive industry
