In the Projects & Operations Department, you will report to the Survey Manager and be responsible for Senior Project Surveyor and Project Surveyor.

YOUR ROLE

Projects - Allocate Project Surveyor resources as required internally and to ensure full survey support for projects operated from the Sète office. Provide support to other areas as required
Project involvement - maintain direct involvement with chargeable project tasks
DeepOcean Africa survey QA and QC work - Assist as required in ensuring that DeepOcean survey procedures and work practices are up to date and fit for purpose
Tendering and Commercial - Assist as required in ensuring required survey input for tendering activities is supplied in an appropriate and timely manner
Departmnent lead/management support - as required provide support and cover for other lead/manager roles within the department

YOUR KEY TASKS

Develop and maintain Project Surveyor Guidelines
Quality control of procedures and methodologies relevant to project survey requirements
Quality control of reports and deliverables relevant to project survey requirements
Supervise and assist Project Surveyors / 3rd Party Survey, as required, during preparation, mobilisation and reporting of survey related project activity
Liaise with 3rd Party Survey, Project Surveyors, Project Management, and key Clients to ensure department efficiency
Provide input on the required make up and competence of the offshore survey team, to ensure they are trained and equiped for existing and future work
Maintain regular contact with 3rd Party Survey support, vessels and survey teams offshore
Keep up to date with developments within the survey department and wider organisation to ensure best practice is being adopted to increased efficiency within the department
Play a major role in preparing survey procedures, general procedures and project specific procedures
Propose new equipment, software and methods as applicable.
Participate and play a leading role in project mobilisation and demobilisation meetings to ensure full familiarisation of project requirements.
Ensure the survey spread has sufficient equipment, software and personnel to meet the requirements for the up-coming project.
Be responsible for all calibrations, make sure all offshore calibration are performed and reported in accordance with the procedures and check that all sensors are calibrated as required.
Liaise with Offshore Manager, Online Surveyor, ROV Supervisor and Bridge to ensure survey is performed in a professional and efficient manner.
Supervise and Quality Control (QC) survey operation and data logging.
Prepare task plans before survey is commenced to ensure ROV Crew and Online Surveyor has sufficient background information to perform the survey tasks.
Liaise with the Data Processors and Geophysicists to perform data processing, interpretation and deliverables from the survey. Supervise the reporting and give priorities to meet required deadlines.
QC of Survey data presentation, charts, data listings, reports and digital data deliveries.
Responsible for all digital data deliverables, make sure all data is checked and delivered according to schedules.
