Local Unit & Position Description:Offshore, Midstream and Downstream (OMD) Section Southern Europe is part of the SEMELA region within the DNV Energy Systems organization, consisting of teams mainly based in Milan (Italy) and Paris (France).

The section serves the energy industry in southern Europe with high quality verification, certification, and technical advisory services in the fields of offshore infrastructure, offshore technology developments, gas consulting as well as at midstream and downstream business.
Position Qualifications:We are looking for a skilled **Senior Surveyor** to strengthen our expert’s team in Paris office with focus within our VMC service area - **Verification and Certification of Materials and Components** in the Energy industry.

The **Senior Surveyor** may as well support with his/her engineering work in other services of our unit such as within VCA service area - Verification and Certification of Assets, as well as within projects related to Technical Advisory, Technology qualification and Asset Integrity Management. Also, the position may involve project work within other non-oil and gas fields, such as the offshore renewable, hydrogen, or chemical industry fields.

Focus of work shall be in relation to our VMC business activities in France, while certain activities and customers may exist in the rest of the Section's South European area.

The **Senior Surveyor** will be involved in DNV’s third-party verification and certification activities as to ensure the quality of advanced engineering products with reference to country/European level regulations, DNV rules and standards, other international recognized codes and standards, or/and customer’ requirements and specifications. Main concerned product lines (semi-finished materials and final products) are the following: pressure equipment (piping, pressure vessels), structural components, offshore containers, and lifting appliances.

Main tasks:*
- Survey activities
- Lead the unit’s survey activities with respect to technical assurance and final verification/certification of a variety of products at manufacturers, or during erection on-site
- Perform surveys during production and testing, incl. assessment of manufacturer’s quality system, material handling, material test witness, review and approval of welding procedures and welders, monitoring during welding activities / NDT, review of manufacturing file, witness of final Factory Acceptance Tests. Follow-up upon testing programs within Joint Industry Projects (JIP's) and/or R&D projects.
- Manage a portfolio of DNV type approved products and systems
- Co-ordinate, supervise, and perform quality assurance upon the work of internally and externally hired surveyors
- Register and manage the orders within DNV’s production systems and issue final project deliverables in accordance with DNV’s quality and performance requirements
- Support the team in other non-VMC related survey work.

Project management activities
- Manage a group of customers and interact with DNV colleagues from all over the world to follow up on customers’ needs and projects’ execution. Perform project management upon full cycle of verification and certification projects:

- Project team mobilization
- Coordination of project tasks between the team members (DNV internal and external personnel) and the customer’s representative
- Ensuring of project milestones completion
- Ensuring of final deliverables issuance to the customer as per planning and follow-up upon final invoicing and payment
- Ensure efficient use of DNV project management tools and high quality project/finance reporting to Head of Section and Finance manager
- Assist with bidding, scope of work and contract preparation upon everyday VMC customers’ requests
- Be responsible for optimum planning of VMC jobs and mobilization of internal and external resources
- Assist with continuous customer’s technical support and business development.

Experience and qualifications :*
- Advanced mechanical engineering degree (MEng, MSc, PhD), or in comparable discipline. Bachelor’s degree may also be considered based on profile and experience
- Fluent in French and English
- Eexperience (3 years+) in the oil & gas, maritime or comparable manufacturing industry or/and in quality assurance and production
- Good experience and knowledge of used materials, and fabrication processes in oil & gas, maritime or comparable manufacturing industry
- Good experience and knowledge of international Offshore standards and codes (DNV, API, ASME, EN/ISO)
- Work experience in other recognized third-party company, or classification society is desirable
