The Institute for Energy Transition (IET) VEDECOM is a French research and training institute dedicated to innovative and sustainable mobility, through three multidisciplinary R&D axes: electrification, automated and connected vehicles, new mobility and shared energy solutions.

As part of the "France 2030" innovation programme, the Institute also actively contributes to numerous European research projects.

Made up of researchers, engineers, study managers, PhD students, etc., VEDECOM has 80 employees who are committed to meeting the mobility issues of tomorrow.

The growth of urban population presents significant urban mobility challenges for sustainable city development. Addressing pollution, energy use, congestion, and accessibility becomes crucial, especially to counteract the rise of private vehicle use and achieve the goal of decarbonization in Europe by 2050. The Covid-19 and recent energy crises underscore the urgent need for a shift towards an energy-efficient public and shared mobility ecosystem. Research indicates that moving from private to public and shared mobility is key to reduce emissions and tackling urbanization impacts, yet implementing such changes is complex. The European project SUM focuses on enhancing shared mobility by developing technology, co-creation, and policy solutions to overcome barriers for car-dependent families. One of the critical aspects involves creating Mobility Management tools to make shared mobility more attractive through pricing strategies, including price sensitivity analysis, dynamic pricing algorithms, and designing push and pull measures towards sustainable options.

We recruit an **Intern on designing pricing schemes for Integrated urban mobility services** during 6 months

**The trainee's main activities will be to**:
Conducting an exhaustive literature review to map out existing pricing frameworks within the multimodal mobility landscape, reflecting on findings from Xiao and Kang (2023) who underscore the complexity and diversity of pricing in emerging mobility services [2].

Developing models for price sensitivity surveys based on discrete choice models, drawing inspiration from Alisoltani and Zargayouna (2023) to investigate consumer response to shared-taxi pricing and congestion impacts[1].

Crafting pricing schemes tailored for a spectrum of services including multi-modal integrated public transport, new and shared mobility, as well as micro-mobility services. These schemes should incorporate dynamic pricing algorithms and strategies to motivate sustainable mobility choices, informed by the equilibrium and pricing strategies discussed by [3].

Benchmarking against existing business models within the Mobility as a Service (MaaS) and integrated mobility sectors, leveraging insights from [4] on the business models for MaaS.

Analyzing pricing impacts on the adoption of shared and new mobility services using various performance metrics, ensuring the proposed schemes enhance mobility service attractiveness while addressing urban mobility challenges.

**Formations**:

- Master's level (Bac+4/+5) in transportation planning, or operation research, or related fields.

**Technical skills / know-how**:

- Programming: Python/or/Javascript
- Knowledge of the Mixed integer programming** **is a plus.
- Knowledge of the transportation sector is a plus.
