**DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE (1-meca and 2- piping)**

1.8 Mechanical Supervisor

His mission

The Mechanical Supervisor will be required to perform the following duties on the project:

- To be the technical reference on site for the Mechanical Erection Contractors’

supervisors
- Guide and lead the Mechanical Erection Contractor(s)
- Coordinate the Mechanical Erection activities, in full accordance with the overall site

activities
- Lead the weekly meetings with the Mechanical Erection Contractor(s) and write the

minutes of meeting
- Prepare and participate at the weekly DSEC coordination meetings
- Establish and update the detailed Mechanical Erection execution schedule, based

upon the project general time schedule.
- Follow-up of the progress, and report any delays of the Mechanical Erection

Contractor(s) to the DSEC Site Manager
- Check and approve the Mechanical Erection Contractors’ execution methods,

together with the DSEC HSSE team and Construction Site Manager.
- Revise the Method statement and Mechanical Erection Procedure of the Mechanical

Erection Contractor(s)
- Undertake inspections of all aspects of the Mechanical Erection Contractor (s) work

and record these accordingly.
- Day-to-day follow up of the site, including supervising and monitoring work of

Mechanical Erection contractor (s).
- Supervise the quality of the Mechanical Erection works; all non conformities need to

be reported to the DSEC site QA/QC Manager.
- Provide the site QA/QC Manager with the necessary information to issue a nonconformance report if and when the executed works aren’t as specified in the

technical documents, or up to the required standards.
- Assist the DSEC Site Manager in preparing such documents and information as is

necessary for the weekly and monthly meetings, and the monthly progress reports.
- Fulfil any other reasonable roles and duties that the DSEC Site Manager may

require as the project progresses.
- Propose solutions to any unexpected technical difficulties, and other problems that

may arise and submit it for approval to the DSEC Site Manager and Project

Engineer.

- Prepare the hand-over / site readiness documents between Mechanical Erection

Contractor(s) and the different contractors
- Inspect the executed Mechanical works and establish the hand over and follow-up

the snagging lists at the end of the works
- Coordinate the non destructive test
- Participate at the organisation of the pre-commissioning

**Responsibilities**:

- To manage and anticipate the sequence of activities of the Mechanical Erection

Contractor and the coactivity works with the other discipline contractors.
- To propose solution to unexpected technical difficulty to the DSEC Site Manager

and DSEC Project Engineer for approval.
- The DSEC Mechanical Erection Supervisor is not allowed to instruct directly the

Mechanical Erection Contractor without approval of the DSEC Site Manager and

DSEC Project Engineer for any action leading to a change of technical concept.
- The DSEC Mechanical Erection Supervisor is not allowed to instruct directly the

Mechanical Erection Contractor without approval of the DSEC Site Manager for any

action inducing a change of scope with a financial impact.

1.9 Piping Supervisor

His mission

The Piping Supervisor will be required to perform the following duties on the project:

- To be the technical reference on site for the Piping Contractors’ supervisors
- Guide and lead the Piping contractors
- Coordinate Piping activities, in full accordance with the overall site activities
- Lead the weekly meetings with the Piping contractor(s) and write the minutes of

meeting
- Prepare and participate at the weekly DSEC coordination meetings
- Establish and update the Piping detailed execution schedule, based upon the

project general time schedule.
- Follow-up of the progress of the Piping Erection Contractor(s), and report any delays

to
