CMA CGM Group has decided to structure and strengthen its R&D approach by creating a Center of Excellence dedicated to Innovation and Research. The center will increase the company’s capacity for technological and scientific innovation necessary to meet its strategic objectives (decarbonization, digitalization ), while generating profitability and ensure a high visibility on the Group’s commitment to industry’s energy transition. It will rely on strategic industrial and academic partners experts in the industry (universities, laboratories, companies, startups, shipyards, etc.). CMA CGM uses all kind of public funding programs to multiply the effect of its resources in R&D.

**THE ROLE**:
As R&D HVAC and Electrical Engineer, your scope of work will be focusing on:
Container / reefer innovation with a strong focus on the optimization of the electrical consumption in relation to maritime, land and terminals usage phases

Reducing emissions of warehouses building.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**The R&D HVAC and electrical engineer will**:
Coordinate and ensure close project management for the various equipment & assets development with its internal stakeholders (from different business units) and with the makers

Test and develop with makers or start-up solutions to improve reefers, electrical consumption depending on usages phases, research related to plugging automation

Propose maintenance rules and process optimization on its scope

Develop new assets usages based on digital data analysis

Do technology and regulatory watch on its scope

Will be involved in alternative energy assessment such as solar power

**PROFILE & QUALIFICATIONS**:
You are graduated from a MSc “Bac +5” engineering degree with a profile specialized in electrical engineering such as Supelec, or in HVAC / Thermal engineering

You have at least 5 years of experience electrical and/or thermal related topics

You are passionate about innovation and energy transition

You can demonstrate successful experiences in managing projects, technology roll-out and collaboration with makers

**Knowledge required**:
Strong experience with Excel, for energy-related calculation (power, consumption, forecast etc...) and thermal / HVAC modeling

Skilled in Project Management, focus on deliverables, milestones, quality of delivery

Data analysis, IoT, software algorithms specifications / sketching of code

Able to discuss regulations (international standard, IEE ) with makers

Ability to prepare Power Point presentations

Expertise in thermal analysis and improvement of buildings electrical consumption

**As a plus**:
Knowledge about materials, insulation, fire-retardant and fire-fighting solutions in electrical environment, automation, positioning and tracking devices

Exposure to industrialization of products in the electrical or HVAC domain

Experience in passing a prototype equipment at medium or large-scale roll-out

Technico-economics evaluation (ROI, Total Cost of Ownership)

Experience with digital deployment project

Working language is English, being able to speak French (C1 level).

This position is based in Marseille. Travels are required.
