**Responsibilities**:
- The Senior Associate will have the following responsibilities:
- Gather GHG emissions and emission reduction targets from companies
- Estimate the carbon footprint of companies which do not disclose their GHG emissions using a set of estimation methods
- Explore a company’s direct activities and those linked with its subsidiaries
- Review, correct and validate data entries prior to client delivery, and within tight deadlines.
- Write a qualitative synthesis of a company’s involvement in such activities and input quantitative indicators to reflect such involvement
- Work transversally across 38 sectors of analysis, supported by MESG sector specialists
- Answer internal and external demands for targeting, collecting and summarizing specific research themes/activities
- Provide knowledge support in sales and client relationship activities.
- Monitor key challenges and trends associated with the research
- Bring ideas to support the continued development of the research line
LI-LR1
- Bachelor’s degree required, in disciplines such as Climate or Environmental science, Political science, Sustainable finance, or similar; post-graduate (Master’s) and/or 3 years of experience in related discipline (Sustainability, CSR, Sustainable Finance, ESG) is desirable;
- Good knowledge of carbon accounting standards, climate regulations and standards (TCFD, PCAF, SBTi, EU taxonomy, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and meticulous, achieving thoroughness and accuracy in quality assurance;
- Excellent proficiency of written and spoken English (working language), with ability to analyse, synthesise and editing skills;
- Ability to collect and manipulate quantitative and qualitative data;
- Proficient in technical document research and information organisation;
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Package (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), ideally with proven ability to manage large datasets in Excel;
- Team spirit, communication, and good listening skills
The ESG Analytics team delivers analytical and production capacity in a centralized manner to meet the needs of all MESG’s business lines. In addition to conducting analytical work, team members serve as Subject Matter Experts regarding ESG data, analytics and opinion.
