The Nestlé R&D Center located in the Loire Valley in Tours (France), is part of the Nestlé Institute of Agricultural Sciences within the Nestlé Research Organization whose main center is located in Lausanne, Switzerland. The main mission of the Plant Phatologist is to contribute to the understanding of the causes and mechanisms as well as the management or control of relevant plant diseases in support of Nestlé Institute of Agricultural Science (NIAS)

**Your responsibilities**:

- Plant pathology R&D strategy and concomittant activities mainstreamed in relevant new and existing NIAS projects
- Active collaboration with key academic and industry partners on priority strategies and activities
- Protocols to assess breeding and pre-breeding plant material against major pathogens and to support the breeding teams in disease resistance introgression
- Increased understanding of the incidence, distribution and control of the key relevant plant pathogens
- Disease diagnostic tools and methodologies for priority diseases in relevant plant species
- Good phytosanitary practices and efficient routes for plant, leaves, seeds and pathogen shipments between NIAS' and relevant partner facilities
- Research projects, studies, publications etc. for peer review and approval

**What will make the **difference**
- Master state of the art for genetics, genomics and phenotyping
- PhD or Msc in Plant Breeding with a good knowledge of agronomy
- Good knowledge of quantitative genetics applied to plant breeding.

Demonstrated knowledge in latest genetics and genomics techniques, including fine-mapping and rapid allele introgression
- Academic or breeding experience related to abiotic stress adaptation, epigenetic or breeding for quality traits would be a plus
- Strong skills in bioinformatics and Knowledge in data statistical analyse
- Good knowledge of agronomy
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluent in English and good knowledge of Spanish
