Context:
Our client is one of the leading eHealth companies in the world. For decades, they have been building a digitized healthcare system. Their software products are designed to support all medical and organizational activities in doctors’ offices, pharmacies, laboratories, and hospitals.
We are seeking in France a highly experienced and dynamic individual to join the company as VP/Manager of Software Development, France.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of 50 engineers and supporting two major legacy products written in Delphi and C++.
In particular, the Manager of Development will be tasked with driving quality throughout the organization and thinking creatively to modernize and migrate the legacy applications to newer, more efficient technologies.

Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage a team of 50 engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure the quality of products and the timely delivery of projects.
- Oversee the support and maintenance of two major legacy products written in Delphi and C++, ensuring their stability, performance, and quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and quality assurance, to drive the modernization and migration of legacy applications to more modern technologies and platforms.
- Develop and implement strategies to streamline and optimize the development processes, including code refactoring, performance tuning, and scalability improvements.
- Drive innovation and creativity within the engineering team to explore new technologies, tools, and methodologies for modernizing legacy applications.
- Provide strategic technical leadership and vision to align the engineering team's efforts with the company's long-term goals and objectives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and knowledge sharing within the engineering organization.
Profile:
Requirements for the position are:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in a leadership role, managing and scaling engineering teams of at least 50 people.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Delphi and C++ programming languages, as well as a deep understanding of legacy system architectures.
- Strong background in modern software development practices, including cloud-native technologies, microservices, and containerization.
- Extensive hands-on experience in quality-driven development, from code quality mentoring, design and quality assurance processes, and product architecture perspectives.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex migration and modernization projects, with a track record of delivering results on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- A strategic thinker with a passion for driving innovation and pushing the boundaries of technology to achieve business objectives.
- Proven ability to inspire and motivate teams, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Location:
The position is based in Montpellier (preferred) or Nanterre, Western Paris
Regular travelling in CGM locations in France is a must.
Language:
The ideal candidate should be multilingual. Ideally, proficiency in French and English are pre-requisites to be successful in a multinational environment.
