Senior Backend Developer – Timeleft We’re looking for a Senior Backend Developer who’s passionate about designing scalable systems, architecting robust APIs, and improving cloud infrastructure. This key technical role executes tasks while thinking systemically to deliver performance, reliability, and scalability. Location: Paris, Île-de-France, France Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using NestJS and TypeScript Architect and optimize PostgreSQL/Supabase databases, schemas, and queries Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform on GCP/AWS Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment flows, and observability Create and manage Cloud Functions for new features and automation Debug, monitor, and enhance system performance and reliability Ensure backend security, data integrity, and compliance best practices Collaborate cross-functionally with product, mobile, and data teams Review code, enforce standards, and mentor other engineers Qualifications (Must have) 5+ years with NodeJS 5+ years with NestJS (core requirement) 3+ years working with GCP, AWS or Azure 2+ years with PostgreSQL/Supabase 2+ years with Terraform (infrastructure-as-code) Hands‑on experience with Firestore/Firebase Strong understanding of microservices architecture, API design, and DevOps practices Excellent debugging, problem‑solving, and system design skills Rigor, autonomy, and a sense of ownership, capable of seeing the “whole system,” not just your piece Nice to have Experience with React Native Experience with NextJS Experience with Python/Flask Previous exposure to event‑driven or real‑time architectures Experience with LLM APIs/RAG What’s in it for you?
