Postdoctoral Researcher in Electromagnetic Interference and Wireless Communication Systems Join Université Gustave Eiffel as a Postdoctoral Researcher to investigate the impact of electromagnetic interference generated by Maglev-derived systems (MDS) on existing wireless communication systems in railway environments. Your work will involve MATLAB and Python developments and simulations to evaluate the performance of relevant wireless systems: Eurobalise, GSM‑R, and FRMCS (5G). About the University Université Gustave Eiffel is an innovative university model combining university, schools, and research organization. With more than 15,000 students and 3,000 faculty, staff and researchers, it supports 33 laboratories and 15 educational components, and plays a leading role in French research on future cities. Responsibilities Identify and classify electromagnetic interferences in MDS and railway environments. Develop simulation models in MATLAB or Python for wireless systems (Eurobalise, GSM‑R, FRMCS). Simulate the behavior of these systems in the presence of interferences. Analyze performance impact and identify vulnerabilities of current systems. Propose and evaluate interference‑cancellation strategies through simulations. Participate in project meetings, present results, write technical reports and publish findings. Qualifications PhD in telecommunications, signal processing, electromagnetics or related field. Proven experience in MATLAB/ Python modeling and simulation. Strong knowledge of wireless communication systems (5G, GSM‑R, etc.) and electromagnetic interference. Familiarity with physical‑layer concepts and interference‑cancellation techniques. Ability to work independently, write technical reports in English, and publish in scientific venues. Autonomy, rigor, initiative, teamwork and excellent communication skills. Environment and Mentors Integrated into the COSYS/LEOST team at Lille Campus, you will collaborate with industrial and academic partners within the European MaDe4Rail 2 project. You will be supervised by Marion Berbineau, research director, and managed by Yann Cocheril, laboratory director.
