The Ocean Club offers a rich roster of activities including water sports such as snorkeling, sailing and wind-surfing along with land-based activities including world-class golf and tennis plus a relaxing spa.**Key Duties and Responsibilities*** To keep all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day to day maintenance of the hotel under the direction of Engineering Management.* To continually support and improve engineering services that effectively address problems affecting both guests and associates.* To be willing to train and instruct other members of the staff by passing along knowledge and skills to assist them in their development and the advancement of your own.* To strive to become an independent mechanic, able to analyze problems and to formulate plans to get work done quickly with a high degree of quality.* Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, safety awareness information, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, keep logs, and correspondence.* Ability to speak effectively with customers and fellow workers.* The Ocean Club is a 7 day a week, 24 hours a day operation. All employees must realize this fact and be aware that at times it may be necessary to move employees from their accustomed shifts as business demands. In addition, it is understood that business determines the amount of hours that are worked, and that some weeks may be scheduled at less than 37.50 hours, and other weeks at more than 37.50 hours.* Perform other duties as required.* Reports for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name badge at all times.* Ensures a complete understanding of and adheres to the policies within the employee’s handbook.* Performs all duties and responsibilities to the standard set by the department and company.* HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic discipline:* Responsible for the day to day operations and repair of plumbing systems throughout the property.* Have a good understanding of the refrigeration cycle.* Be able to troubleshoot equipment professionally to assertion the problem and correct the same.* Be able to evacuate the system and change components including the compressor.* Be able to close everything up and pull a vacuum and charge the unit.* Be able to maintain all chilled water fan coil units in guest rooms.* Maintain all air handling units for public areas.* Be able to maintain all walk-in coolers, freezers, and fridges throughout the property.* Be able to maintain all ice machines through the property.* To keep engineering and work areas clean.* Complete all assigned work in a safe and professional manner.* Maintain communications with supervisors to ensure that all needed materials, tool and supplies are available or on order.
