As part of this mission, we’re establishing our new Western European banking entity, headquartered in Paris, and applying for a French banking license. We’re looking for a world-class Director of Risk to lead the charge on risk for Western Europe and drive our next phase of regional growth.You'll be a key member of the local Executive Committee, reporting directly to the CEO of Revolut Western Europe and the Group Head of Risk. You’ll take full responsibility for establishing and maintaining a comprehensive risk management framework that enables the safe and strategic growth of our operations in Western Europe, while aligning with Revolut Group's global standards.What You'll Be DoingLeading the development and implementation of the risk management framework and strategy for Western EuropeEnsuring alignment of local risk strategy with group standardsManaging Western Europe’s risk profile within the agreed appetiteProviding risk reporting and challenge to France's Executive Committee and BoardRecruiting, managing, and developing the Risk team in Western EuropeOverseeing day-to-day risk operationsEnsuring appropriate governance and controls are in placeBuilding and maintaining solid relationships with French regulatorsResponding to supervisory reviews and regulatory auditsSupporting product launches, partnerships, and market entries by assessing risks and implementing mitigation strategiesPerforming capital, liquidity, and interest rate risk stress testingEnsuring compliance with applicable prudential requirementsPreparing internal and regulatory risk reports, including ICAAP, ILAAP, and Recovery & Resolution PlansMonitoring market risk trends, and proactively advising business leadership on their implicationsDriving the localisation of group risk policies, ensuring their relevance and effectiveness within Western European marketsDeveloping and embedding business continuity plansManaging ongoing assurance and readiness testingWhat You'll NeedExtensive experience leading risk functions in regulated retail banking environmentsA demonstrated ability to establish first or second line of defence frameworks from the ground upExcellent knowledge of French banking laws, regulatory frameworks, and supervisory expectationsA solid understanding of credit, operational, and conduct risks within financial servicesA track record of strategic leadership, including participation in financial services executive committeesAn ability to partner with commercial and technical teams to balance innovation with controlExceptional leadership and communication skills with a high degree of independence and integrityNice to haveExperience supporting a banking license application processStartup or scale-up experience in high-growth environmentsA background in Tier 1 strategy consulting, investment banking, or private equityExperience in media, public speaking, or government relationsA CFA, ACA, FRM, or similar risk-related certificationA STEM degree from a top university or an academic medal in mathematics, physics, or computer science competitionsFluency in FrenchWe’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.
