First Stage Propulsion Engine System Technical Leader

Our aim is to successfully design and test a cost-effective and reusable mini-launch vehicle by 2026.🚀 First Stage Propulsive Engine System Technical Leader Within the MaiaSpace Technical Team, you will be in charge of the overall Engine Propulsion Systems: Manage the engine specification for the MSP launcher and ensure convergence and consistency with all launcher architects, particularly with the first-stage architect (i.e., 3-engine bay). Particular attention must be paid to the launcher exploitation phase, aiming to optimize the business performance of both the Expendable Launch Vehicle and the Reusable Launch Vehicle. Contribute to the launcher development and verification plan, with a strong link to tests (objectives, exploitation, and measurement plan). Contribute to test and flight preparation activities (i.e., flight-worthiness file), forecasting, and analysis. Manage the first-stage engine technical database, configuration management, and coordination of planning activities with the engine supplier. Define and manage, together with the engine supplier, the technical logic and action plans related to technical issues. Ensure consistency with the upper-stage engine system design. Your duties will include: Design (Mechanical, Functional & Avionics) Concept studies, including trade-offs. Technical specification Requirements. Functional and justification files synthesis for MSP; Safety file; Roadmap and logics i.e tests Supplier management Ensure coordination and convergence Support to the company’s technical strategy Support to the Propulsion roadmap Support to industrialization and operation Qualification Master’s degree or equivalent in aerospace engineering > 10 years of professional experience in the field of liquid propulsion and launcher systems Sound knowledge in fluid systems, avionics systems and mechanical architecture, design and development Sound knowledge of cryogenic fluids, control and regulation, mechanical justification Sound knowledge of launcher system architecture design (function analysis, phase analysis, specification...) Sound knowledge in products and supplier management Sound knowledge in test and launch campaign preparation Experience with development and qualification process Skills Customer oriented Autonomous, proactive attitude towards resolution of problem Team player with the ability to collaborate with people from different disciplines and cultures Curious, pragmatic and capacity to arbitrate and make choice to guarantee the launcher optimization Negotiation skills Knowledge or practice of Agile methodology Working at MaiaSpace You will be joining a friendly multi-disciplinary team, comprised of multi-skilled people, following Agile and Scrum methodologies.
