Gastrointestinal Research Scientist (H/F/X) Join to apply for the Gastrointestinal Research Scientist (H/F/X) role at Mars Segment: Royal CaninLocation: Aimargues, France (nearby Montpellier)Contract: Permanent (CDI) At Royal Canin R&D, the Research Team is responsible for long‑term innovation (4+ years). The team delivers solutions to new or improved products, processes and services that enhance the health and wellbeing of every cat and dog and bring competitive advantage to Royal Canin. The team values broad expertise and diversity of scientific backgrounds. The purpose of this role in the Core Health Research Team is to identify innovative solutions on Gastrointestinal Health (nutritional products, services, diagnostics, or functional complements) for healthy and sick pets and to communicate relevant scientific/technological findings to key business and external audiences. Qualifications Doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM or equivalent) preferred. MSc or PhD (preferred) with expertise in gastroenterology, nutrition, veterinary science, animal science, or animal physiology. Post‑Doc or 2 years of R&D experience in a corporate environment is a plus. Excellent communication skills. Fluency in English, both verbal and written. Key Responsibilities Screen potential solutions and build/manage approved research projects within the program, including idea generation, protocol set up, external contracting, ethical review, regulatory checks, budget and protocol follow‑up. Engage with the Core Health Research team to generate and demonstrate new research hypotheses. Collaborate with the Predictive Research Team to optimize design and outcomes of clinical studies. Align ideas and projects with the Pet Professionals and PSR Demand teams under the support of the Research Senior Scientist. Support the Design team in scientific evaluation of new diagnostic tools, devices, and service solutions for cats and dogs. Engage potential collaborations between Waltham and other Mars Petcare units for relevance to the Core Health Research team. Communicate findings to key business and external audiences through written works and oral presentations. Provide final internal reporting, external scientific communication, peer‑reviewed publications, and support for patent filing.
