They manage team dynamics, help others become the best version of themselves, and steer the team toward optimized execution.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a small product team of 3-5 engineers (backend and frontend).Spend 30% of time on management work; actively participate in product development when not in management duties.Participate in hiring processes for their own team and assist peers when needed.Oversee onboarding of new engineers.Represent the team and manage dynamics to bring out the best in the team.Provide continuous, constructive feedback.Support the team’s growth and manage each direct report’s career.Provide guidance and coaching to the team.RequirementsManaged an engineering team of at least 2 people.Extensive experience with Backend (Elixir/Phoenix).Commitment to promoting Remote's values within the team and organization.Solid communication skills.Solid knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices.Proven organizational skills with attention to detail.Focused on efficient processes with a people-first approach.Ability to inspire others and instill confidence.Good understanding of team dynamics.Aspiring and intentional about diversity, equality and inclusion.PracticalsReport to: Engineering ManagerDirect reports: 2-5 EngineersTeam: EngineeringLocation: Anywhere in the worldStart date: As soon as possibleCompensation and BenefitsRemote’s Total Rewards philosophy ensures fair, unbiased compensation and fair equity pay with competitive benefits in all locations. We pay above local in-location rates and support global talent-hiring to bring local wealth to developing countries. Salary bands are geo-based to reflect geographic pay differentials.The base salary range for this full-time position is USD 73,150 to USD 164,600. Actual pay depends on location, skills, experience, training, business needs, and market demands.
