Overview Vernon Jubilee Hospital (VJH) is a 196‑bed acute care facility serving the North Okanagan region in Vernon, British Columbia. The hospital offers comprehensive medical services, including advanced surgical and psychiatric care, and is committed to innovation and excellence in patient outcomes. About the Role As a Hospitalist, you will provide general medical care for adult patients within the hospital setting. Your duties will involve collaborating with surgical, psychiatric, and anesthesia teams, coordinating complex cases with tertiary care providers in Kelowna, and ensuring smooth transitions with discharge planners, community resources, and family physicians. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive clinical care for adult inpatients. Collaborate on surgical and psychiatric cases and coordinate advanced treatment plans when needed. Work closely with allied health professionals and specialists such as General Internal Medicine, General Surgery, and Anesthesia. Participate in discharge planning, community resource coordination, and family physician collaboration to ensure seamless patient transitions. Engage in medical education by teaching undergraduate medical students and residents from UBC‑Okanagan. Contribute to Physician Quality Improvement (PQI) projects, driving innovation and continuous advancement in patient care. Maintain professional integrity and adaptability while fostering a culture of humor and harmony within the team. Compensation Clinical Service Contract – Estimated annual remuneration for a full‑time hospitalist: $336,162.00. Additional compensation includes MOCAP Level 2 and no physician overhead. Benefits and Incentives Flexible vacation and leave arrangements, allowing for periodic recharge and relaxation. Relocation funding available: $9,000 within British Columbia, $12,000 within Canada, and $15,000 for locations outside Canada. Incentives are subject to change; specific rates will be confirmed upon offer.
