We work cross-functionally with other teams to bring data-driven impact to Fabulous and its business units like Product Growth, User Acquisition and Finance.Practically, the team handles three data areas:Data Project Management: sort requests, refine requirements and acceptance criteria with stakeholders, prioritise, plan and execute while communicating proactively to ensure visibility and a connected feedback loop with involved parties.Applied Analytics & Data Science: Data exploration, defining appropriate analytics approaches; we aim for simplicity and interpretability, but embrace complexity when needed. All new projects have a strong Data Science component in the MVP iteration.Analytics Engineering: Data modelling and transformations to build, maintain and scale analytics pipelines. Once an MVP is validated, we implement and iterate in our dbt project. Testing and data observability are important; proper architecture to manage Technical Debt is a key element.All team members are expected to excel in at least two areas to be autonomously impactful. We work in an agile manner, splitting bigger projects into iterations rarely exceeding 3 weeks to ensure impact. We have a modern cloud-based Data-Stack (Fivetran - BigQuery - dbt - Amplitude - Metabase - Looker Studio) and seek a capable Senior Analytics Engineer who can integrate our agile context smoothly and bring value quickly.Expectations | DutiesThis role is critical to the ongoing success of the data science team:Work on Data Modelling and Analytics Engineering projects to improve, enrich and maintain data models and analytics pipelines, in close collaboration with the Head of Data & Analytics. Projects aim to enable data analytics and scientists to drive more impact on business use cases in collaboration with business teams.Contribute to the code base by building, testing, reviewing and maintaining solid analytics pipelines using SQL and dbt. Manage TechDebt and improve engineering practices and project architecture; implement solid data testing and strengthen data observability.Gradually own aspects of the team’s responsibilities and influence the analytics project’s architecture, contribute to team evolution and growth, and help data analysts and scientists improve their engineering skills.Speak up and contribute proactively to improving team practices, cohesion, impact and mission.Demonstrate high autonomy and ownership, managing own projects and stakeholders with minimal guidance from the Head of Data & Analytics.Mentor junior members and share knowledge to level up the team’s skills.Contribute to functional documentation in a clear and concise manner for future collaborators.QualificationsUniversity Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Applied MathematicsMinimum 4 years of experience in Data or Analytics EngineeringExcellent hands-on data modelling skillsExcellent SQL skills (dbt experience or similar SQL-based modelling tool is a plus)Solid engineering skills (testing, clean coding, peer-review, CD/CI, git workflows, agile workflows, etc.)Experience with modern data stack tools and cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.)Strong business acumen to manage projects and stakeholdersSelf-starter with autonomous work styleExcellent written and verbal communication in EnglishComfortable in a remote work environment (remote-first organization)Nice to HaveExperience with Amplitude, dbt, BigQuery, MetabaseStrong analytical and statistical intuitionHands-on data analysis skillsExperience managing modern dbt data pipelinesExperience in an agile start-up environmentBenefits & EnvironmentRemote-first organization with a modern data stack and a culture of open communication, deep work, and ownership.
