Its portfolio includes over 300 leases across Canada, the USA, and the UK. In your capacity of Jr. Legal Advisor, you are an integral member of the in-house Legal team, primarily supporting a Senior Legal Counsel in all aspects of the company's commercial leasing activities.ResponsibilitiesDraft, review, and negotiate various commercial lease agreements, including offers, leases, letters of intent, lease renewals, and amendment agreements;Ensure that all leasing documents comply with internal standards, company policies, and relevant federal, state, and local laws;Conduct detailed legal research on leasing laws, landlord-tenant disputes, property rights, and regulatory compliance issues;Assist the Legal Counsel and Vice President with special projects and renewal processes;Review and prepare lease summaries, estoppel certificates, and other legal notices and related documentation;Manage and organize due diligence materials related to leasing transactions, including various reports;Working closely with the Leasing, Real Estate, and Finance teams to provide practical legal information;Maintain and update the company's master lease forms and ensure the accurate archiving of executed documents.QualificationsActive membership in good standing with the Quebec Bar Association;1 to 3 years of post-qualification experience in commercial real estate, corporate law, or contract law is an asset, with experience specifically in commercial leasing being a significant asset;Bilingualism (French and English, written and spoken) is required for daily communication with suppliers, employees, and stakeholders, both within and outside of Quebec;Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills;Excellent communication skills;Strong legal research and analytical skills;Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and evolve in a fast-paced environment;Autonomous and capable of managing priorities.At GDI, you will be part of a growing organization that understands the importance of investing in people and offers you :A comprehensive compensation package that includes performance-driven bonuses;A group retirement savings program with employer matching;Flexible group insurance with personalized coverage that meets your needs;An employee discount at Garage and Dynamite;Exclusive private sample sales;A flexible vacation policy;And moreGDI has been repeatedly voted one of Montréal's Top Employers and one of Canada's Top Employers for Young People.Our promise...No day will be like the last-we aim to be better today than we were yesterday.
