Freelance Consultant – Power BI for Finance & Controlling Location: Paris (Hybrid: On-site & Remote) Contract Type: Freelance / Project-Based (6 months) Start Date: January 2026 Industry: Finance & Business Intelligence What is the role and company? A mid‑sized organisation based in Paris is seeking a freelance consultant to support its finance transformation efforts through enhanced reporting and analytics. The company has an existing Power BI environment and is looking to expand its capabilities within the finance and controlling functions. This project‑based role will cover maternity leave and is focused on improving reporting design and usability for internal stakeholders. The consultant will work closely with finance teams to deliver tailored dashboards and insights, while collaborating with IT and data teams who will handle data preparation. What will I be doing? As the Power BI Finance Consultant, you will: Lead workshops with finance and controlling teams to gather reporting requirements. Design and build dashboards and reports using Power BI, tailored to FP&A and controlling use cases. Translate business needs into effective visualisations and reporting structures. Collaborate with IT and data teams to ensure datasets are structured and accessible. Enhance the usability and performance of existing Power BI reports. Provide documentation and training to ensure smooth handover and user adoption. Act as the key point of contact for finance‑related reporting during the project period. What profile will I require? Required: Strong experience in Power BI report development and dashboard design. Background in finance, FP&A, or controlling, with a solid understanding of business processes. Ability to work independently and manage stakeholder expectations. Fluent in French and English (spoken and written). Based in or able to work regularly from Paris, with flexibility for remote work. Preferred: Experience working in hybrid environments with cross‑functional teams. Familiarity with corporate reporting standards and performance metrics.
