Job OverviewBon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Pharmacist to join their team at Southampton Memorial Hospital. As a faith-based and patient-focused organization, Bon Secours exists to enhance the health and well-being of all people in mind, body and spirit through exceptional patient care.The Pharmacist will perform medication management activities to ensure safe, rational, and cost-effective therapy while maintaining compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and standards. The ideal candidate will have a current license for pharmacist in the state(s) where practicing, a graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS or PharmD, and experience in field of pharmacy practice.ResponsibilitiesProcess orders and provide medication review for appropriateness, safety and efficacy during order processing and perform any necessary clinical support duties as neededEnsure accurate preparation of compounded and non-compounded products to include safe handling that is consistent with regulationsOversee distributive functions of the pharmacy department to facilitate accurate and timely medication availability to patients/staffOversee pharmacy technicians and support personnel activities based on department needMaintain responsibility and accountability for the security of pharmacy inventory based on department needIdentify, document, and resolve potential and actual adverse medication events and may evaluate reports in event reporting system for trending and prevention purposesPerform medication education to improve patient understanding and adherence consistent with department guidanceWork collaboratively and effectively to communicate verbally and in writing with pharmacy team members, healthcare providers, patients, caregivers, and leadersParticipate in departmental medication safety, quality assurance, drug utilization reviews, drug dosing, infection prevention, student precepting and other activities based on department needRequirementsMaintains current license for pharmacist in the state(s) where practicingGraduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS or PharmDExperience in field of pharmacy practiceWhat We OfferComprehensive, affordable medical, dental and vision plansPrescription drug coverageFlexible spending accountsLife insurance w/AD&DEmployer contributions to retirement savings plan when eligiblePaid time offEducational AssistanceBon Secours Mercy Health is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
