As part of the Query Connectors team, you'll help build and maintain critical data connectivity infrastructure while constantly exploring and adapting to new technologies and data platforms.This role combines deep backend expertise with a passion for learning new technologies. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our employees can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.What You’ll Do:Design and implement distributed systems that enable seamless data connectivity across Datadog's ecosystemLead technical discovery processes with product teams to understand their data access requirementsBuild and optimize backend services that power our data connectivity infrastructureExplore and evaluate new technologies to enhance our connector capabilitiesCollaborate extensively with teams across Datadog to ensure connectors meet their specific needsDrive the adoption of new technologies and best practices within the teamOpportunity to contribute to open-source projects and broader industry initiatives, making a meaningful difference beyond our platform.Who You Are:You have 5+ years of relevant industry experienceStrong background in building and maintaining backend distributed systemsExperience with high-throughput, reliable service design and implementationQuick learner who enjoys exploring and adopting new technologiesExcellent problem-solving skills with complex distributed systemsBackground in databases or query systems is a plus, but not requiredStrong proficiency in at least one of our core languages: Java, Go, or RustTechnical Environment:Programming Languages: Java, Go, RustQuery Engines: Trino, DataFusionStorage Systems: Postgres, Apache Iceberg, Cassandra, ElasticsearchCloud Platforms: AWS, GCP, AzureInfrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, TerraformBuild Systems: BazelCI/CD: GitLabWorkflow Orchestration: TemporalDatadog values people from all walks of life.
