Our first satellite was launched on 1 May 2023 by SpaceX"Endurance" is a docking service capable of keeping customer satellites in position for an extended lifetime of 5 years, paving the way for future in-orbit maintenance services.About the RoleWould you like to join us?Are you passionate about technology and New Space, and want to be part of this new space conquest? To complete our dynamic and international team, we are seeking an energetic and highly motivated Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our team for 6 months .Job DescriptionBuild concepts and mechanical layouts for new satellite missions and new products in collaboration with internal and external teams.Apply the Design for X product design principle.Make detailed design of parts and assemblies using CAD software and translate them into production drawings.Perform Static and Dynamic Modeling of hardware using FEA tools to ensure survivability for launch loads.Perform Thermal Analysis and Characterization of hardware, including upgrading the simulation procedures in place.Test design and test data analysis.Working closely with the CTO and the Product Owner to finalize design trade-offs.Leading the maturation toward the PDR and CDR of the spacecraft by identifying all the activities, analysis, and simulations to be performed.Applying the right standards to ensure safety and reliability of the mission while keeping a NewSpace approach.You will be responsible for assembly, integration and validation of hardware modules such as cameras, radios, antennas, etc.You may also be required to contact potential suppliers and oversee subcontracted activities.RequirementsUniversity Master degree or equivalent, Specifically in the field of Mechanical Engineering.Knowledge and experience of mechanical design and CAD softwares such as OnShape or SolidWorks. 2D drawing adaptation of 3D designs.Knowledge and experience of thermal analysis tools such as Ansys.Have a good understanding of concepts such as forced vibration, heat transfer (esp. radiative)Coding abilities in C and Matlab, and knowledge of git, are appreciated.Pro-activeness and ability to work in a self-directed, fast-paced and result-oriented environment.We value team spirit and problem-solving. As our team is international, English is the only working language at Infinite Orbits.
