Software Engineer, User Safety ToolingAbout the RoleAs a Tooling Engineer on our User Safety team, you'll design and build internal systems to protect our users, support data collection, and ensure compliance with global regulations. You'll join a small, fast-paced team where you'll have the freedom to be creative and develop innovative safety tools that make a real impact.At amo, we're building social apps that bring friends together, and ensuring user safety is a critical part of our mission. You'll work directly with our User Safety lead to create the infrastructure that keeps our community safe.What You'll DoDesign and build highly-scalable, efficient, and robust trust and safety platforms and tools, including data tracking pipelinesDevelop systems to enhance data collection, compliance, and safety processesCreate APIs and integrations with third-party servicesCreate intelligent workflows including automating complex decision-making processesUnderstand product objectives to develop user-friendly platforms that align with operational needsEnsure safety services have zero downtime and can scale as our user base growsWho You AreRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical disciplineAt least 5 years of software engineering experienceProficiency in designing data structures, building algorithms, and at least one programming language (Rust, C, or C++)Willingness to learn Rust if no prior knowledge.Great communication and teamwork skillsPassion for user safety, human moderation, AI moderation, and operational efficiencyPreferred QualificationsExperience with Rust programming languageBackground in trust and safety tooling or content moderation systemsExperience with web development and frontend technologiesFamiliarity with regulatory requirements related to online safety (DSA, etc.)Experience working with machine learning models and data pipelinesLife at amoTo ensure that everyone is set up for success within our way of working, we work together onsite 5 days a week.We wanted to make sure coming to the office is as comfortable as possible for you:We chose a location in central Paris, near Opera (Metro lines 3,8,9 and RER A).We have a beautiful Parisian-style office with high ceilings, balconies, and huge windows.
