They are expanding our team in Toulouse and are looking for an experienced Propulsion Engineer to join their Propulsion Department. The Role As a Propulsion Engineer, you will drive the design, analysis, and development of thrust chambers and combustion hardware for cutting-edge liquid propulsion systems. You will lead a small multi-disciplinary team and collaborate closely with Systems, Mechanical, and Test Engineering to deliver high-performance propulsion solutions. This is a unique opportunity to work on advanced concepts such as aerospike engines, staged-combustion cycles, and in-space thruster technologies. Key Responsibilities Lead the combustion devices engineering team. Oversee design, analysis, and optimisation of thrust chambers and combustion components. Support development of thrusters for in-space propulsion systems. Ensure designs meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements. Coordinate with Systems, Mechanical, and Test teams for integrated propulsion development. Manage schedules, resources, and project milestones. Plan and supervise test campaigns; analyse test data and implement improvements. Maintain thorough documentation and ensure compliance with aerospace standards. Drive innovation and continuous improvement within combustion device technologies. Required Qualifications Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 3+ years of experience in rocket engine or thrust chamber development. Experience leading technical teams. Strong knowledge of liquid rocket propulsion systems. Proficiency in CFD/FEA tools for fluid and structural analysis. Experience with high-thrust engine or complex propulsion projects. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities. Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Fluent English required; French is a plus. Preferred Qualifications Master’s or PhD in a relevant field. Experience in European or international space propulsion programmes. Knowledge of advanced materials, additive manufacturing, and cryogenic propellants. Strong communication skills and ability to mentor junior engineers. Why Join?
