Job Description We are seeking a Principal/Senior Software Engineer to join our Interventional Solutions segment. Your growth will be tailored to a technical or leadership path aligned with your skills, interests, and ambitions. You’ll work within software domain while collaborating with mechanical, electrical, physics, systems, software, and marketing teams. Responsibilities Participation in architecture, quality, safety, and performance of both software and hardware. Follow complete software life‑cycle process including design, documentation, implementation, testing, reviews, production support, and field support. Work with electrical, mechanical, physics, systems, software, and marketing teams. Assist in analyzing component selections and capabilities. Develop algorithms for device control. Implement and provide workflow feedback for UX/UI. Participate in work estimation, planning, scheduling, and execution as part of an Agile scrum team. Conduct unit testing and support integration of software deliverables into the product line. Investigate issues reported by internal and external customers in laboratory and field environments. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Software, or Computer Engineering Minimum 5 years of experience in software development Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ or C# Ability to drive software development in all phases of the product lifecycle as part of a small, multi‑disciplined R&D team Experience in implementing data communication protocols Understanding of data involved in controlling devices or electrical interfaces What Sets You Apart Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science field from an accredited college or university Experience with modern development concepts and practices including OO principles, unit testing, agile development, and continuous delivery Experience with regulated SDLC or medical device regulatory standards such as 21 CFR Part 820, IEC 62304, and ISO 13485 including experience with system risk / hazard analysis Experience with software configuration tools for source code control, issue tracking, requirements management, code review tools and 3rd‑party project build tools Control systems knowledge Ability to work independently and collaboratively Knowledge in digital circuits and serial communication; control and automation background a plus Experience with microcontrollers, SPI, I2C, etc. Circuit design, schematics, simulation, layout versus schematic Electrical measurement, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc. Experience in building Linux distros ideally custom configurations for embedded environments (Yocto based) Wide set of programming, scripting languages, and frameworks such as Java, Rust, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, Python, Qt/QML, wxWidgets, React, GTK, Flutter, Electron, etc. About Siemens Healthineers We are a team of more than 72,000 highly dedicated Healthineers in more than 70 countries. Pay and Benefits Base Pay Range: Min $158,300 - Max $237,440 Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, long‑term and short‑term disability insurance, paid parking/public transportation, paid time off, paid sick and safety time.
