Carlisle Renault Contract type: Full‑time, permanent Hours: Monday‑Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm, and Saturday mornings on rota Salary: OTE up to £43,600, with basic of £34,000 per annum plus bonus Workshop Controller We are looking for an experienced Workshop Controller to join our dynamic team in our state‑of‑the‑art facility. You will supervise and motivate our team of Technicians & Apprentices, proactively review and prioritise the daily workload, and be a crucial part of our business and the Aftersales Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of the workshop, ensuring the service and repair technicians achieve their daily targets, and assisting the Service Manager in providing the best possible service to customers and achieving agreed profits and retention levels. High levels of customer satisfaction will be maintained through relevant quality checks. Responsibilities Ensuring that all working practices comply with company, DVSA, health and safety, and OEM policy. Making sure all service work is carried out correctly, competently and on time, with customer satisfaction in mind. Maintaining relationships with vehicle manufacturers and supporting Technicians during repairs to ensure high standards are achieved and maintained. Liaising with colleagues and other departments to ensure a top‑quality service for customers. Scheduling work to meet customer needs, taking into account workshop targets, the complexity of each job and the availability of parts. Assisting with technical challenges by going above and beyond to support the team and writing technical reports. Qualifications / Experience The ideal candidate will have motor industry experience managing a team within a busy Service/Workshop environment, a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent), and a solid understanding of COSHH legislation, trade practices, and consumer legislation. Awareness of quality control and inspection requirements of a workshop is a must. We are looking for someone who is friendly, confident and enthusiastic. A full valid UK driving licence is required.
