At Bending Spoons, we’re striving to build one of the all-time great companies—a company that serves a huge number of customers, where team members grow to their full potential, and that functions at unparalleled levels of effectiveness and efficiency. We create value for shareholders at an extraordinary rate while adhering to high ethical standards. To achieve this objective we acquire a digital business with untapped potential and make it as successful as we can by leveraging our platform—our expertise, technologies, data, brand, talents, and company culture. We then invest the proceeds into making our platform more powerful and acquiring new businesses, combining investor capital allocation with a hands‑on operator approach. For a talented, driven, and collaborative individual, working at Bending Spoons is an opportunity to learn, make an impact, and progress their career at an exceptionally high rate—that’s our promise to you. Our Technology team is central to this mission. We build the systems, products, and infrastructure that power dozens of digital businesses serving millions of users worldwide. As part of our fast‑track program for future engineering leads, you’ll join a world‑class group of problem‑solvers working to create technology of extraordinary quality and scale. This position is open to individuals with an outstanding track record of excellence and growth—whether or not they’ve previously held an engineering‑lead role. Excellent references from reputable professionals will be essential. After an intensive training period of six to twelve months, if your performance warrants it, you may take on a technical leadership role—either as the sole leader or co‑leader—of a business unit generating revenue in the tens of millions of dollars at a minimum, with the potential to increase your level of responsibility to the hundreds of millions over time. You’ll report directly to our CTO. Responsibilities Drive strategy. Develop and execute bold, data‑informed strategies focused on unlocking new levels of value for the company. Lead an outstanding team. Lead a high‑performing team of some of the most talented professionals you’ll ever meet, making tough decisions to uphold excellence when necessary. Operate at the sharp end of the industry. We’re one of the highest‑rated employers in tech and finance, and our products have hundreds of millions of users. Our sights are set on greatness, and yours (and your team’s) must be, too. Master your toolkit. Work across diverse tech stacks and refine your ability to choose the right tools for every challenge—from monolithic to microservices architectures, gRPC to REST APIs, Kubernetes to Docker, Python to Rust. Simplify relentlessly. Turn complexity into simplicity by optimizing CI/CD pipelines, writing maintainable code, or crafting minimalist architectures. What we look for Leadership. Years of outstanding experience in highly challenging roles, with demonstrated exceptional performance and outlier growth. Drive. Extreme ambition, initiative, effort, and tenacity, with a deep sense of responsibility and a high and rising bar. Reasoning ability. Ability to solve complex problems using first principles, structured ideas, bias resistance, and attention to detail. Team spirit. Generosity, reliability, honesty, and transparency, supporting the best idea rather than your own and willing to get hands dirty for the team. Proficiency in English. Read, write, and speak English proficiently. What we offer An exceptional opportunity for growth. Prioritise outstanding potential and place individuals in roles where they can thrive and lead products worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Incredibly talented, entrepreneurial teams. Work in small, result‑oriented autonomous teams with some of the brightest people in your field. All. These. Benefits. Flexible hours, remote working, unlimited backing for learning and training, top‑of‑the‑market health insurance, a rich relocation package, generous parental support, and a yearly retreat to a stunning location. Competitive pay and equity. Salary in London ranges from £151,436 to £250,512 and elsewhere in Europe from €145,430 to €240,330, with growth tied to experience and impact. Permanent contracts include discounted equity options and additional tax benefits for relocation to Italy. Commitment & contract Permanent or fixed‑term. Full‑time. Location Milan (Italy), London (UK), Madrid (Spain), Warsaw (Poland) or remote in selected countries. The selection process If you pass our screening, we’ll ask you to take on a few tests designed to assess how you approach unfamiliar problems. They’re challenging and may take several hours to complete. If you succeed, we’ll invite you to a series of interviews. We set the bar high and won’t extend an offer until we’re convinced we’ve found the right candidate. Bending Spoons is an equal‑opportunity and affirmative action employer.
