Join to apply for the Adult Companion role at Incompass Human Services Job Title: Adult Companion Part-time opportunities Summary Adult Companions work with an individual enrolled in the Department of Developmental Services’ Agency with Choice Program. They work directly with the individual in the family home and in the community as part of a family support team. Essential Job Functions (vary according to the needs of the individual but may include) Accompanying the individual to community activities with family members or alone to increase understanding of social norms and independent skills. Gaining and applying knowledge of the individual's strengths, abilities, weak areas, needs, behaviors, and motivators. Positive interaction resulting in the development of relationships with the individual and family. Role model appropriate social communication and actions in all settings. Support the consistency of the family/home routine by assisting with appropriate participation. Create and maintain a safe environment where the individual can utilize strengths and improve on needed skills. Assisting with the daily living needs of the individual within the home and community. Education & Experience First Aid & CPR Certifications required. High school Diploma or equivalent. Experience working with developmentally disabled individuals. Ability to respond appropriately and quickly to health, safety, and emergency situations.
