Data Engineer - €600pd - Paris - Energy Trading I’m working with a leading energy trading firm that’s building a centralised tick data platform and looking to add an experienced Data Engineer to the team. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys working close to the data, building robust pipelines, and designing cloud‑native architecture without relying on heavy managed platforms. This is a contract role paying around €600pd, with 2‑3 days per week required on‑site in their Paris offices. Role Build and maintain a centralised tick data platform Implement a Medallion‑style architecture 1–2 Gold layers Work closely with engineering, analytics, and trading stakeholders Tech Environment Cloud: Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3, Glue, Lambda No managed platforms (e.g. Databricks) Languages: Scala / Spark (core) Some Python Required Experience Proven experience as a Data Engineer Strong hands‑on experience with Spark (Scala preferred) Good understanding of data architecture patterns, including Medallion‑style designs Experience building data pipelines using AWS‑native services Comfortable working with large, complex datasets Nice to Have (Not Essential) Background in energy trading, commodities, or financial markets Experience working with tick data or time‑series market data Exposure to trading, risk, or market analytics environments Front‑end development experience with React What They’re Looking For A team player with a collaborative, unselfish mindset Proactive and hands‑on, willing to take ownership Someone who enjoys solving problems and improving platforms If you are interested, don't hesitate to apply with your latest CV attached for immediate consideration.
