OverviewLumibird Medical is the division of LUMIBIRD specializing in solid-state lasers, diode lasers and ultrasound for medical equipment. Lumibird Medical operates with three brands: Quantel Medical, Ellex and Optotek. This is a CDI position on the site of Cournon d’Auvergne (63) to support development in ultrasound and medical imaging.MissionsYour main mission is to participate in the development of a new product range and updates to the current range, contributing to the company’s performance. You will model and experimentally realize laboratory prototypes and conduct all necessary tests, as well as participate in the theoretical and experimental phases of an ultrasound product (mechanics, electronics, software).Activities / TasksContribute to modeling, design and realization of laboratory prototypesPlan, execute and analyze experimental tests and test campaigns (acoustic characterization, imaging performance, concept validation)Participate in the different phases of theoretical and experimental development of ultrasound systems:– mechanical– electronic– softwareDevelop and optimize software blocks for signal and image processing (real‑time or post‑processed), on CPU and GPUContribute to technological and scientific watch: analysis of publications and patents; participation in conferences and technical groupsProvide expertise to reinforce the ultrasound expertise center of the medical divisionKnowledge and skills requiredSolid knowledge of ultrasound physics and medical imagingProficiency in signal processing (filtering, beamforming, Doppler, ultrasound imaging)Image processing skills (reconstruction, image enhancement, post‑processing)Experience in modeling and simulation (acoustics, propagation, sensors, systems)Knowledge of ultrasound transducers and acquisition chainsScientific/industrial software development:Languages: C/C++, Python, MATLAB (or equivalents)High-performance computing: GPU / CUDA / OpenCL (a plus)Understanding of real‑time and embedded systems constraintsAbility to work at the hardware/software interfacePersonalityAutonomy, scientific rigorTeam collaboration and spiritCreativity and proactive stanceInterest in modeling, coding and hands‑on lab workAbility to collaborate with different design officesExperience in the medical field and knowledge of optics, ultrasound will be a differentiatorEnglish proficiency is essentialProfileYou hold a Bac+5 (engineering school or PhD) and have 5 to 10 years of experience, ideally in the field of ultrasound or medical imaging.ConditionsPosition available as soon as possible.
