Reporting to the Head of ANC (Animal Care) Discovery, the Senior Scientist plays a key role in ensuring the continuity and acceleration of the ANC innovation pipeline. The main mission of the role is to build and strengthen the scientific foundations of ANC ingredients and solutions by characterizing their bioactivity, elucidating their modes of action, and generating robust biological evidence to support innovation projects, product claims, and strategic differentiation. The position includes direct management of one team member and close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, both in France and internationally. What you will do Lead and perform in vitro and ex vivo biological characterization studies (immunity, gut barrier, inflammation, oxidative stress, microbiota, etc.) Translate complex biological data into clear scientific narratives usable by Product, Marketing, and Regulatory teams Actively contribute to strategic ANC innovation projects (experimental design, data analysis, compliance with regulatory requirements and timelines) Develop, optimize, and standardize biological models and analytical methods Supervise, coordinate, and ensure the quality of internal and external studies (CROs, academic partners) Manage and support the development of one team member Prepare high-value scientific reports and communication materials What you bring PhD in biotechnology, microbiology, immunology, animal physiology, or a related field – PhD mandatory At least 5 years of experience in R&D, biological characterization, or applied research in animal health Proven expertise in in vitro / ex vivo bio-efficacy models and experimental design Strong skills in biological data analysis and interpretation Ability to manage, prioritize, and drive multiple projects in parallel Scientific rigor, autonomy, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills Fluent English required (French is a plus) Frequent travel is expected to Bréhan and Roscoff, where part of the teams and R&D activities are located.
