About Neoplants Neoplants is a biotechnology start-up led by Patrick (PhD in Genetic Editing, ENS), using genetic engineering to empower plants to have a positive impact, both in our lives and on our planet. We are starting by creating indoor plants with new-to-nature traits, both functional and aesthetics. We are now leveraging our know-how and technologies to create plants that address the problem of climate change at scale. Neoplants is backed by leading European and Silicon Valley investors and is based in the Paris region. About This Internship During this internship, you will contribute to establishing and optimizing a transformation method using plant cell suspensions to implement a platform for multigene testing. Suspension culture refers to growing plant cells in a liquid nutrient medium under controlled conditions. In the next phase, you will focus on optimizing the transformation system and performing molecular analysis of the transformed cells. Plant cell suspension cultures offer a scalable and uniform platform that accelerates rapid prototyping of complex multigene pathways and the efficient production of recombinant proteins. Key Areas Of Focus Plant cell culture: work on creating and manipulating plant cell lines in sterile in vitro conditions; learn to formulate media for plant culture with micro-macro elements and growth hormones. Agrobacterium-mediated transformation: transform constructed vectors into Agrobacterium strains and perform plant nuclear and plastid transformation. Gene & protein screening: learn methods to validate complex genetic pathways.
