This role sits at the intersection of actuarial pricing and advanced analytics, helping us push the boundaries of technical pricing with AI, machine learning, and automation.You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams (Underwriting, Data, Product) and have a direct impact on how we price risk, improve portfolio profitability, and innovate across product lines.As a Actuarial Data Scientist in a pricing actuarial team, you will:Design, build, and maintain pricing and risk models for a wide range of P&C insurance productsApply machine learning and AI algorithms to enhance pricing accuracy and risk segmentationLead forecasting initiatives and align insights with broader strategic and financial planningEvaluate Wakam’s aggregate risk exposure to identify potential risk accumulation (e.g. by peril, region, or insured value) and ensure alignment with internal limits and reinsurance treaties.Track and analyze exposure levels across portfolios, focusing on sum insured, policy limits, and risk accumulation across geographical areas, product lines, and coverages.Automate and optimise the model development lifecycleEnsure regulatory compliance and contribute to model governance best practicesMentor junior team members and foster a high‑performance analytics culture🧠 What You BringA Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a similar quantitative field3+ years of experience in pricing roles within the insurance industry (P&C preferred)Strong background in machine learning, statistical modelling, and pricing algorithmsExpert-level proficiency in Python, R, and SQLFamiliarity with AKUR8 or other pricing automation platforms is a strong plusKnowledge of model governance, back‑testing, and actuarial compliance standardsAbility to embed models into business workflows and live operational systemsStrong grasp of insurance economics and how pricing impacts profitabilityNaturally curious and analytical — you love turning complex data into actionable insightsYou take full ownership of your projects, from ideation to implementationYou’re a clear communicator, able to simplify technical concepts for all stakeholdersYou thrive in a collaborative, cross‑functional environmentYou’re motivated to share your knowledge and mentor othersYou’re flexible and adapt well to a fast‑paced, agile environmentYou are fluent in English; French is a plus or you’re open to learningShape the future of pricing innovation, combining actuarial science with AIWork in a tech‑first, transparent, and purpose‑driven environmentCollaborate with an international team building pan‑European insurance productsEnjoy flexibility, trust, and room for growth in a high‑impact roleJoin one of Europe’s most agile and ambitious digital insurersWe aim to keep the process transparent, engaging, and efficient.
