We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Underwriting Expert to join our team. As a Life & Health Underwriting Solutions Expert, you will establish and maintain evidence‑based underwriting guidelines and shape the roadmap of our next‑generation Underwriting Solutions powered by AI, collaborating with CMOs, actuaries, medical experts, and tech teams across the (re)insurance industry. Key Duties and Responsibilities Develop the philosophy behind our Underwriting Solutions, including the Underwriting Manual SOLEM, across all types of risks (medical, occupation, sports, financial, etc.). Keep the Underwriting Philosophy state of the art, evidence‑based, and well documented. Turn the philosophy into guidelines that align with local market practices and regulations, ensuring they are user‑friendly for internal and client underwriters. Seek stakeholder input—such as L&H modeling, doctors, legal, E‑Underwriting experts, and local UW teams—on complex and impactful updates. Monitor industry developments (new medical studies, treatments, regulations) that may affect our philosophy. Support E‑Underwriting solutions’ content and rule development (e.g., Velogica) and coordinate approval with local teams. Efficiently cascade and communicate updates to stakeholders, organizing regular sharing sessions. Document changes in tools like Teams and Azure DevOps to maintain an audit trail. Create communication materials for significant updates to strengthen SCOR’s reputation, collaborating with Communications and Marketing. Actively drive the Underwriting Solutions roadmap as a Subject Matter Expert, working with product managers to prioritize features and assess AI integration. Contribute to visioning how AI can enhance our solution suite and be integrated across knowledge, data, and configuration layers. Participate in user acceptance testing for new releases. Required Experience & Competencies 10+ years of life underwriting experience, with a track record of expanding responsibility and technical expertise. Experience building medical underwriting guidelines with CMOs and actuaries. Knowledge of innovation in the L&H underwriting landscape. Strong technical underwriting expertise and a passion for solutions. Collaborative team player with excellent engagement and communication skills. Highly organized, comfortable documenting work in various systems. Strong oral and written communication skills in English (French an advantage). Familiarity with IT systems such as MS Office, Azure DevOps, Confluence/Jira or a willingness to learn. Required Education At least a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in an insurance or medical‑related field.
