Location: Paris – hybrid-friendly. About One Biosciences: One Biosciences is a pioneering precision diagnostics company uniquely positioned to decipher tumor heterogeneity through the convergence of single‑cell transcriptomics and artificial intelligence. Our proprietary platform combines cutting‑edge biological protocols, advanced algorithms, and molecular signatures to deliver clinical‑grade insights that transform cancer treatment decisions. The Context: As One Biosciences transitions from retrospective research to real‑time clinical diagnostics, AI stands at the core of our platform’s evolution. Our mission—to decode tumor heterogeneity at single‑cell resolution—relies on transforming complex, high‑dimensional transcriptomic data into actionable clinical insights. This demands robust, production‑ready AI pipelines that are not only accurate and reproducible, but also compliant with stringent clinical and regulatory standards. Objectives and Missions: Drive the development and deployment of next‑generation AI solutions for single‑cell data analysis that enable deep characterization of tumor ecosystem at single‑cell resolution. Bridge cutting‑edge machine learning research and real‑world clinical impact, supporting our transformation from retrospective analytics to prospective, clinical‑grade diagnostics. Core Responsibilities Define and drive the AI roadmap, aligning model development with our mission to advance precision diagnostics through single‑cell transcriptomics. Design, train, and validate robust machine learning models—including deep learning, ensemble methods, and foundation models—for analysing large‑scale single‑cell data. Build downstream AI applications that leverage these models to address specific single‑cell analysis tasks such as cell type annotation, data imputation, and in silico perturbation. Ensure AI pipelines are scalable, version‑controlled, and reproducible across large patient cohorts; collaborate with engineering teams to deploy models into production within our cloud‑native infrastructure. Maintain transparency, explainability, and auditability of algorithms to meet clinical and compliance standards, in accordance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, EU AI Act, HIPAA, FDA). Work closely with data engineers, molecular biologists, clinicians, and software developers to integrate AI into clinical single‑cell analysis workflows. Mentor junior data scientists and engineers, fostering best practices in ML engineering and AI research; contribute to hiring and team growth as we scale internationally. Technical Experience and Qualifications 4+ years of professional experience in AI/ML, data science, or applied research, or a strong PhD track record in AI data science applied to single‑cell; experience in leadership or mentoring role is a plus. Proven track record of developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments, preferably in healthtech, biotech, or life sciences. Deep understanding of modern machine learning techniques including deep learning, ensemble methods, unsupervised learning, and model interpretability. Proficiency in Python and major ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit‑learn); experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus. Hands‑on experience with model versioning, reproducibility, and CI/CD for ML (e.g., MLflow, DVC, GitLab CI). Experience with, or strong interest in, single‑cell omics data and the application of AI to solve biological and clinical questions. Regulatory and Clinical Awareness Understanding of clinical data and healthcare AI applications, including privacy, reproducibility, and explainability requirements. Familiarity with data protection and AI‑related regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, EU AI Act, FDA framework) is a plus. Soft Skills and Mindset Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills. Appetite to work in rich, interdisciplinary teams (data scientists, engineers, biologists, clinicians). Ability to collaborate with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders to define and deliver impactful AI solutions. Comfortable in a fast‑moving startup environment; resourceful and solution‑oriented. Fluent in English (French is a plus but not required). Education Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field. Salary: competitive package depending on experience and seniority.
